6 Months Old

Half a year! Can you believe it? I can't put into words how amazing these past 6 months have been. I love this little boy to death. He is amazing! Alden is getting to a really fun age.

Here are some updates on our little man!

GROWTH: Alden is one word.... HUGE!! I'm not sure how this big boy came out of me! He is 20 1/2 pounds and 28 inches long. He is above the 90th percentile in both height and weight. He is so big he has grown out of his carrier already. It's hard for me to pull him out of the car.

SLEEP: Alden loves his sleep. If you wake him up from a nap too early and he still wants to sleep, he cries until you get him down again. He is still sleeping through the night. Bedtime is usually around 9:30 PM and he sleep until 7 or 8 AM. He takes two naps during the day. One in the morning after breakfast for about an hour and then one in the afternoon after lunch for about 2 hours.

CLOTHING: Alden is in 9-12 month clothing. This was an issue at first because all our clothing that were either gifts or that we purchased were winter clothing for 9-12 month size. We figured he would be in this size around October or November. We went out and got some good deals on shorts and short-sleeved shirts for him. He is just getting way too big, too fast.

DIAPERS: Alden is in Size 3 diapers. We buy Huggies brand from Costco.

DEVELOPMENT: He is now sitting on his own. He has been doing this for about a week now. He is so proud of himself. It's nice now, because he can sit on the floor and play and I can get work done. He is doing great with his hand-eye coordination. He has recently discovered his tongue, which is fun to watch and he knows how to blow raspberries, usually spitting food all over momma during meal times. :)

FOOD: Alden has tried lots of new foods this month. He has tried apples, bananas, pears, prunes, peaches, and broccoli. Everything was a success except broccoli. I think it was the texture. We will try it again when he can eat fresh broccoli.

He is growing up so fast! I can't believe it's been half a year with him here! Time flies when you are having fun.
