38 Weeks Pregnant

Photobucket

Photobucket

I made to it 38 weeks! Alden is completely developed and from here on out, he is just gaining more weight before he enters the world! :) I like knowing that he is completely ready to be here without complications.

He should be weighing around 7 to 7 1/2 pounds and around 20 inches long. He doesn't have any more room in there to wiggle. He adjusts every once in a while, but nothing much. He is still head down and has dropped even farther. I have the feeling he is going to fall out. I know he won't, but it is pretty uncomfortable.

I am definitely ready for him to be here. I have still been getting lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. They are a little more painful than they used to be. They aren't consistent and don't get any stronger, so I know they aren't anything important. My ankles are officially starting to swell. By the end of the day, I have to put my feet up because they hurt. My hips are aching horribly, because he is pushing so hard on my pelvis. I have a hard time walking and sleeping.

We are getting the house finalized for him to arrive. We have the hospital bag and car seat in the car already, and we have everything set up and ready. I went this weekend and bought nursing bras, so I am all ready for him. Now, it's just waiting and waiting.

We have our 38 week doctors appointment on Wednesday. We will see if I have progressed at all. Last week, I was still 1 1/2 cm and 80% effaced. With him being so low and with all these contractions, I'm hoping that I am a little farther along.

Until next week, or when he arrives...

37 weeks

Photobucket

I am officially "Full Term"!!! Yeah!! I made it!

He should be weighing 6 1/3 pounds, but our little guy was weighing that 2 weeks ago. So, he should be weighing around 7 1/2 pounds.

I am becoming completely miserable. I am still 1 1/2 cm and 80% effaced. I went to the hospital last Thursday with contractions, but they weren't doing anything. I haven't had any contractions since, so I am thinking it was false labor. I am not sleeping at night at all. I have a bad cold right now, so I can't breathe at night.

I'm definitely ready for this little boy to be here, and the doctor said he could come at any time. There aren't many changes since last week.

Until next time,

Lyndon, Stacy and Alden

Firefighter of the Year 2010

On Saturday, Lyndon had his fire department dinner. It was a Hawaiian theme. The food was really good.
We ate, they gave out awards, and we had a gift exchange. I got a gift box of firefighter hot sauce, which I will probably never use, and Lyndon got a really nice pocket knife.

Lyndon was honored to receive Firefighter of the Year for 2010. This is the first time in the fire department's history that there was a tie for Firefighter of the Year.

I am very proud of him!!!

Here he is receiving his award

Christmas Cookies

Every year, Lyndon's family decorates Christmas cookies. This year was a little tough. I am 37 weeks pregnant and I recently came down with a nasty cold. We weren't sure if we were going to make it this year. I got the energy up and made it. We had a great time.

After we decorated cookies, Grandma Kay made a really good ham dinner! Yumm!! We had a really great time. While we were there it started to snow outside. The snowflakes were bigger than any snowflakes I have seen in my life.

It was a great time!

36 1/2 weeks

Photobucket

Alden is supposed to be weighing around 6 pounds right now, but according to how our little boy is growing, he is around 7 pounds. We went to our doctors appointment yesterday and I was checked. Alden is head down and WAYYYY far down there. He has slowed down his movements a little bit. He is still moving in there, but not as much.

At the appointment, my doctor checked my cervix. I am 1 1/2 centimeters dialated and 80% effaced. He said the baby could come anytime. He could come tonight, he could come in a week. My doctor isn't concerned about him coming early because he is measuring at 38 weeks.

I woke up this morning at 5 AM with some cramping and I have been uncomfortable all day. I have to teach my last tumbling class tonight before my maternity leave. Hopefully he doesn't come during the class!!

I am completely uncomfortable. He is sitting so low on my pelvis I struggle to move around. I am exhausted. I'm not sleeping at night. I have to go to the bathroom constantly and my body aches.

From now on, I will probably update more often to let everyone know what is happening.

Our Last Ultrasound

Photobucket

Well, we officially had our last ultrasound before Alden gets here. It was so enjoyable. Lyndon was able to go with me this time!! He was amazed to see his baby's face on the screen.

Of course, they tell you to drink enough water to satisfy a camel for a month, which doesn't work when you have a baby's head pushing hard on your bladder and you have to pee every 30 minutes in the first place. So, I tried to drink as much as a could. I was told I didn't drink enough, but she got what she needed so it doesn't look like it mattered too much.

When we got in there, she did the medical exam part. She checked the size of his head, his length, and the length of his leg bone. Before she told me the weight and the appoximate gestational age, she asked "Are you diabetic?" Which, to me, reading all those prenatal books means... Your baby is big.

Alden is supposed to be weighing around 5 1/4 pounds. Our little linebacker is weighing between 6 lb 3 oz and 6 lb 13 oz. He is weighing and measuring around 37 weeks instead of 35. Everything else was looking healthy and perfect.

The doctor told me he is completely head down, there has been some changes in my cervix and I may be starting to feel some early labor pains in the next week or so. It looks like our little guy may be coming a little early. And, yes, I have been having some cramping and heaviness down there... So, ready or not.

I have my next appointment next week. He will check to see if anything has changed in my cervix and we will go from there. I'm completely uncomfortable and ready for him to be here... Only about 3 to 4 weeks to go!! :)

More updates at 36 weeks and the next appointment.

35 Weeks - 5 Weeks To Go!

Photobucket

I am 35 weeks pregnant! I only have 5 more weeks! It is so crazy.

Alden should be weighing in around 5 1/4 pounds and 18 to 20 inches in length. His basic physical development is complete, now he is just gaining weight each week. It makes me feel much better knowing that if he was born today, he would most likely be okay. He isn't "Kicking" as much anymore. I get a foot or knee sticking out of my side or in my rib every once in a while, and he adjusts his body more, but no more karate kicks.

I am still having Braxton Hicks contractions. Surprising! They are still mostly in the evenings after a day of doing lots. I am completely exhausted and uncomfortable. I'm not sleeping at night anymore. My hormones, I think, I switching. I am more emotional this week. It might be from being uncomfortable and tired, but tears are showing up more often.

We were supposed to have our ultrasound and 34 week appointment last week, but we were snowed in, so this Wednesday at 1:30 PM we are going to our ultrasound and a 35 week appointment. Then, we are starting to go to the doctor every week from now on. It is coming quickly!! I can't wait for my little bundle of joy to be here. Lyndon is getting excited and can't wait!!

Until next week,

Lyndon, Stacy and Alden

The Winter Snowstorm Continues....

In the past 24 hours we have had over a foot of snow, and it hasn't stopped yet. It is still coming down strong outside. All the schools are closed in our area. I had to reschedule my doctors appointment and ultrasound to next week. We are completely snowed in and we aren't able to get out of our driveway. Lyndon has shoveled snow at least 5 times in the last day. It is a mess out there!!!

This is our front yard.

House Fire

Around midnight Monday morning, Lyndon was paged out to a house fire on the east side of Weiser, later to find out it was a house of a family we know. The fire started at an electrical outlet outside the house and went into the roof and attic. Lyndon was at the fire until 5 in the morning.

The family was able to get out safe, but the house was gone. The fire only burned the upstairs, but the first floor had smoke and water damage. The family is actually going to rent our old house, since it hasn't been rented out yet. Which is such a blessing!

Lyndon came home and told me he was the first firefighter in the house. The fire was really hot and this is what his helmet looked like after the fire. His helmet started out bright yellow...

34 Weeks - 6 to go!

Photobucket

I am 34 weeks! That is crazy to me!! Only a little while longer and our little boy will be with us!!
This next week, we have our 34 weeks check-up and our ultrasound. We get to see our little guy and find out how big and long he is!

I've been doing good. I am getting very uncomfortable. He has no more room in my belly, and his kicks are hurting more and more. My hands and feet have been swelling slightly at night, but once I get up and get moving, they go back to "normal". As normal as they can be right now. I am going to the bathroom more and more now. I think during the day, I am in there about every 30 minutes to an hour. One of his little body parts is sitting right on top. If I don't go, it hurts when he moves. I've still been having the Braxton Hicks contractions, like always. They are still mostly in the evenings or if I move a weird way. I haven't been getting as many, but they are getting more uncomfortable. I think that is just because I am getting bigger.

Alden is weighing in at 5 pounds and is around 20 inches in length (According to What To Expect When You Are Expecting). His fingernails are almost to the tip of his fingers. He is growing growing growing!! He definitely enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner. After I was done eating, he was kicking like crazy!! The best feeling in the world.

Within the next week, Lyndon and I are getting our hospital bag ready. With Idaho having a hard winter and having to drive 25 minutes (In good conditions) to the hospital, we want everything ready to go so we can leave quick. We are also going to get him some newborn size diapers and a can of formula. I plan on breastfeeding him, but I want a backup, just in case. I don't want it to be 3 am with a crying baby and struggling with nursing.

We are both definitely getting excited to see our little boy. I was telling Lyndon the other day how he was kicking me and he looked at me with a sad look on his face and said... "I am just ready to see him and hold him already!"

Only 6 more weeks!!

Until next week (With ultrasound pictures hopefully)

Baby Items

We got some fun gifts!!! :) I thought I would share them since I remembered!!
My parents got us the baby carrier. I love the online shopping thing! I chose the one I liked, e-mailed it to my mom, and it showed up on my doorstep a week later! Now, that is my kind of shopping. I don't have to walk through a store full of people... I just get online! My new favorite way to shop!

Photobucket

Some friends of Lyndon's family got us this fire truck toy box. It is the cutest thing ever. It has a ramp on the left side and that side opens so he can pull his trucks into the station! So cute!!

Photobucket

And, of course, our FAVORITE gift!!! DIAPERS!!!! We have around 250 size 1 diapers and 350 size 2 diapers! We are set... for a while... We are going to buy newborn size soon just in case he doesn't fit in the size 1's at first!! :)

Winter Snowstorm In Idaho

We are officially in a winter snowstorm. We woke up this morning with about an inch of snow, which isn't much, but it hasn't stopped. It is supposed to snow through the weekend. With a baby due in January, I was really hoping for a light and easy winter. It looks like it's going to be the total opposite. It's going to be a long long winter!!!

Here is outside our house. This is the church across the street from our house. You can't see the snow coming down, but it is crazy out there.

Photobucket

This is why I love my husband!! He went out and shoveled snow this morning. With it snowing this hard, he will have to go out a few more times to shovel.

It's beginning to look like Christmas!! Ready to set up Christmas decorations and our tree!!!

Grandma Gets Her Makeup Done

My mom had all her granddaughters at her house the other day. She has a makeup bag of old makeup that she doesn't use anymore and lets them play with them. They asked if they could do her makeup that day. This is how it turned out!

Here are the girls putting on the makeup. On her left cheek is a kitty cat. :)

Photobucket

Here is the finished product. My mom had no idea what she looked like. While she looked like this, Johnny's cub scout troop showed up to deliver the popcorn from his popcorn sales. My dad brought them in the house and showed them what she looked like. My nieces were very proud of their "Artwork"

I'm 23! Happy Birthday to Me!!

November 23rd was my 23rd birthday... My Golden birthday! :) Same age as my birth date!
I have a wonderful birthday. Lyndon had to work all day, so that was a little bummer, but it was still a good day. I started out laying in bed until noon watching TV and eating breakfast!! :) I figured I will never be able to do that again for a birthday so I will take full advantage of it. Next year I will be chasing around a little boy!
In the afternoon, I went over to my parents house. My aunt and uncle were here for Thanksgiving so I visited with them and we all played card games and Yahtzee. It was fun!
When Lyndon got off work, he gave me my birthday present. It is a heart necklace with a diamond. It is so pretty!!! It's really nice because my wedding ring doesn't fit right now, so wearing it kind of makes it feel like a replacement. I love it. I will cherish it forever!
That night, we went out to eat at a local restaurant in Weiser. We couldn't go far because Lyndon had a fire department meeting that night. He is constantly going going going. When he was doing that I watched a good movie.
Yesterday, we went out to lunch for our official going out date. We went to our favorite place, Romio's in Ontario.

My birthday was a success. I really enjoyed it!! :)

33 Weeks.... 7 To Go!!!

Photobucket

Alden is a little over 4 pounds and is 17 inches long. I definitely can feel all those 17 inches!! He is taking up LOTS of room! He has been getting the hiccups a lot which is fun to watch my belly bounce when he has them. He is also down lower and his hands and head are pushing on things that have never been pushed before. I am so used to him being only in my ribs, it's weird to get hit in the bladder constantly!

I haven't been sleeping well at all. My hips ache horribly when I lay down for too long. I think my hips are starting to widen for him to get through. My body pillow helps a little at night, but not enough. I am up every 2 hours trying to readjust. Lyndon tried to give me a massage. It helped a little, but a few hours later, I was in pain again. I am officially getting the "Waddle". I can't tell if it's from my belly or from my legs and hips being in so much pain. Now, that he is down farther in my pelvis, I am up more during the night than I was before. I never thought that would happen. I guess it is preparing me for motherhood.

We had our 32 week doctors appointment last week. He is head down and is doing good. Because I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions, I have been limited to doing only certain things. I am still on a strict water intake and rest schedule. And, from now until 37 weeks there is no "intimacy"... if you know what I mean. After 37 weeks, the doctor said go for it, because it will probably kick in labor. I only gained 3 pounds the last month! Whoo hoo!!

We have our ultrasound scheduled for December 1st. And, also our doctors appointment. We are now going to the doctor every other week. We are getting close! We just need to keep this baby comfortable and inside of me until I'm due!!! At the ultrasound they will be able to tell if I'm dialated or if my cervix is doing anything. We're keeping our fingers crossed that everything is great!! :)

That is all that has happened this week.

Until next time....

Cub Scouts Go Bowling

My little brother is in Cub Scouts. This Wednesday, his troop went to the local bowling alley to learn about bowling. My mom invited me to come, so I went and watched him bowl. He did really well. They had bumpers for them while they bowled, which helped a lot, but he threw a few down that didn't hit the bumpers. He also got a spare!

Before they played a game, the owner of the bowling alley taught them about the bowling balls and how to throw them. The balls were a little heavy for them, but they were tough. Some kids forgot to let go so the ball would hit the floor really hard!
Here is the owner showing the boys how to bowl.

32 Weeks Pregnant.... 8 to go

Photobucket

I AM GETTING BIG!!!! And I am feeling it all over. The scary thing is, is that I'm only going to get bigger!!! Only 8 weeks to go!

Alden is weighing in at around 4 pounds and is 17 inches long. He is getting bigger and bigger and I am definitely feeling it! He isn't in my ribs with those feet as he has been the last couple months, but he has now started to go down into my pelvis. I am now getting poked in the bladder all times of the day!! Before he made that move, he officially bruised one of my rib bones, and now it is horribly tender!

I have still been having Braxton Hicks contractions. I get them more during the evening and they go away when I lay down for bed. I told Lyndon maybe we should name him Braxton because I have had so many.

I am drinking lots and lots and LOTS of water since my labor scare which means with kicks in the bladder and water rushing through my body I am in the bathroom every 2 to 3 hours.... all hours of the day and night.. The joy of pregnancy!

I am definitely not able to breathe as well as I used to. Cleaning around the house and teaching dance has been getting more and more interesting due to my growing belly.

I can't complain yet of any stretch marks on my belly, I have some other places (upper thighs and backside) but none on the belly yet. With how big my belly is getting I wouldn't be surprised that I get some by the end of my pregnancy. Every morning I slather on that lotion to keep it nice and hydrated! :)

This week is our 32 week appointment. In 2 weeks we get another ultrasound. Then, it's official countdown time to when he gets here! I can't wait!!!

That is about it for this week.

Until next time,

Lyndon, Stacy, and Alden

Happy 3rd Birthday to Hayden!

I can't believe Hayden is 3! It seems like yesterday I was in the hospital waiting for my sister to give birth to this beautiful little girl. And, now look at her! She is 3!

We celebrated Hayden's birthday at her house last Thursday night. Hayden has been going through some hard times lately, being in and out of the hospital due to a horrible bladder infection! Poor girl! She wasn't feeling in tip-top shape for her birthday and wasn't sure if she wanted to eat the cupcake, but she definitely wanted to open her presents! She got lots of good gifts! A baby doll and baby accessories, Toy Story 3 toys, candy, and clothes. The birthday was a success! She had her family around to celebrate!

Here is Hayden with her cupcake. She was acting shy because everyone was singing "Happy Birthday". Afterward, she said her tummy hurt and she didn't want the cupcake, so we went straight into opening presents!

31 weeks... 9 weeks to go!

I am 31 weeks pregnant!! :) The countdown begins. We are counting down single digits now! It is crazy to think about!!

Alden is 16 inches long and about 3 1/2 pounds! He is STILL in my ribs with those feet of his. I think one of my rib bones is bruised because it hurts worse and worse each time he kicks. He is getting more fat on his body and in the next few weeks will be going through a growth spurt.

I have been still having braxton hicks contractions. I usually get them if I do too much during the day or I have a full bladder. Ever since last week and having to go to the hospital, I have been resting a lot more. I drink TONS of water which makes me have to get up more during the night, but if it will keep my little guy in there I'm not complaining!

Lyndon and I haven't gone to a birthing class at all. I am the youngest sister in my family and both my sisters have been through labor multiple times. My sister, Susan, went through her labors without an epideral. She just had some meds at the end of it. My mom and my sister are teaching me breathing techniques, positions, and relaxation techniques. I think I am more worried about how Lyndon will do than how I will do! :)

Alden's room is coming together more and more. He is getting lots of books and toys, TONS and TONS of clothes and diapers! My mom bought us our baby carrier and it is going to be delivered any day! After that, we are ready for this little boy to come. He just needs to get a little bit bigger! :) I am definitely counting down the days! :)

Photobucket

Until next week,

Lyndon, Stacy, and Alden :)

November Baby Shower! :)

My sisters put on a baby shower for me! It was so much fun! It was mostly family. There were some close family friends there also. I think total we had about 20 people there. We had the shower at my house, which means 20 people is a lot to fit in here. We had to shift some furniture around to get it to work.

My sister, Susan, passed around a plate that everyone signed welcoming baby Alden into the family. Then we played some games with some great prizes!!! :) My mom and my sisters made the finger foods for the shower, which were delicious! We also had hot apple cider and punch!

I got lots of great gifts! I got 6 packages of diapers which I am not going to complain about one bit! They will really come in handy! :)

It was such a wonderful shower! Thank you to my sisters and my mom for putting it all together! Thank you for everyone who came!!

Here are some pictures of me opening my gifts.

Happy Birthday Grandma Kay

Saturday was Lyndon's grandmas birthday. Lyndon's parents left for their Mexican vacation in Cancun on Saturday, so we celebrated her birthday on Friday. We went out to Idaho Pizza in Weiser at celebrated with pizza, breadsticks, and salads!! :) Yum! Then, Kem made Kay a Hickory Nut birthday cake. I tried the cake and it was good. I'm just not a nut fan. We got Grandma Kay two metal water bottles.

On Sunday, we celebrated with Kay and Dennis. Lyndon preached this Sunday, so they came to listen to him. After church we went to an old schoolhouse outside of Weiser that was having a old fashioned homemade roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salad, and homemade pies! It was DELICIOUS!! Then, in the upstairs of the old schoolhouse they were selling some things from the school. They had some very old wooden chairs that could probably tell many many stories (I bought 2 of the chairs for decorations! They also were selling old school books from the schoolhouse. It was so much fun! It was a great way to spend the weekend!

Here are Lyndon and me at Idaho Pizza for Kay's birthday party... I am 30 weeks pregnant in this picture.

Jacie's New Bed

Our 15 year old black cat has found her new bed. She has discovered Alden's crib. She sleeps on the blanket that is in there, so I'm not too worried about it. I can just changed out the sheet and blanket before we put him in the crib. She will sleep in there for hours. It is kind of funny.

And, she didn't try to hide that she was sleeping in the crib. I could hear her meowing from the living room. She isn't a big "Meower" so I thought maybe something was wrong. When I got into the baby's room, she was sitting there waiting for me to pet her. She is a little spoiled.

I wonder what she is going to do when there is a sleeping baby in her bed...?

Contractions

On Tuesday night, I was laying on the couch and started getting Braxton Hicks contractions. No big deal, I get them quite frequently and didn't think anything of it. Then, 10 minutes later I got another one, and 10 minutes after that... And they started to hurt a little bit. I told Lyndon I wasn't feeling great so I was going to lay in bed.
For almost 2 hours, I was having these contractions 10 minutes apart. At 9 PM, I told Lyndon it might be a good idea to go to the hospital. I told him if they stopped on the way there we could just turn around and come home. It is a 25 minute drive to the hospital and I was having them every 8 minutes. They weren't too painful, just very uncomfortable.
When we got to the Emergency Room, they sent me straight up to Labor and Delivery and got me in a room. I was hooked up to 2 monitors. One to check the baby's heart rate and one to track my contractions. During the 3 hours we were there I had them every 15 minutes and they slowed down to every 20 minutes. The nurse checked my cervix. I wasn't dialating and my cervix wasn't thinning at all so the contractions weren't doing anything.
I was told that I was dehydrated and that is what brought on the contractions. They made me drink water and it seemed to help some. They sent me home with strict instructions to drink lots of water and rest. I can't do much. It's extremely hard for me to lay around, but it scared me, so here I am resting.
Now that I am resting, I'm not sleeping well at night. I didn't fall asleep until midnight last night and was up at 5 this morning. Plus, I have to figure out how to teach dance and tumbling without exerting tons of energy.

That was the excitement around our household this week. I will keep everyone updated! :)

30 Weeks.... 10 to go....

I am officially 30 weeks pregnant. Time is FLYING!! I can't believe I'm in the 30's. It's coming so quickly!

Alden is around 16 inches in length and weighs about 3 pounds! He is definitely big!! He is now doing less kicking and more just moving and trying to get comfortable. He can open and close his eyes and can see light and dark. He also jumps in my belly if there is a loud noise.

I've been having to rest a lot more lately. I get exhausted easily now. I've feeling bigger and bigger each day. I haven't experienced any stretch marks on my belly yet. Cross my fingers I can make it through the pregnancy without any. I've been slathering Vitamin E and Avacado oil cream all over my belly. I've been getting more Braxton Hicks contractions. I seem to be getting them when I don't drink enough water or if I over-do it. Which I get them a lot on Thursday's which is the day I teach for 2 1/2 hours straight. I'm getting used to them. They basically just tell me to sit down for a few minutes and rest.

This weekend is my baby shower that my sisters are putting on for me. I'm super excited! I will post pictures after!

Until next week,
Lyndon, Stacy, and Alden

Bubble Wrap Dresses

My nieces found some bubble wrap in a box and decided they were going to wear them as dresses. they had to carry their cell phones with them also... Which are old cell phones from the toy box. They were pretty funny running around with bubble wrap on!

Lazy Day

Sophie and I were relaxing on Saturday. She is the laziest dog I know. She goes from the chair to the couch to her dog bed. I have no worries about her when the baby comes. I think she will just be upset because he will wake her from her sleep! :)

This is how I found her in the recliner

Then, I layed on the couch and she decided she wanted to take a nap by me.... lazy dog!

Happy Halloween 2010

Halloween was great. This was our first halloween in our new house. We didn't get that many trick-or-treaters. I think we maybe had 40 kids stop by. Which is less than half than last year. My nieces and my little brother stopped by and I got some pictures of them. They were so cute! They didn't stay for long because they wanted to go get more candy. Not surprising. Lyndon and I just stayed home and enjoyed seeing all the adorable costumes. It's crazy that next year we will have a little one to dress up!!!

29 Weeks (11 Weeks To Go)

Sorry I have no picture this time. I can't find my camera. I can't remember where I put it. Good ol' pregnancy brain.

Alden weighs 2 1/2 pounds and is 15 inches long. He is still kicking up a storm. He definitely doesn't have as much room as he used to. The body parts that he shoves out of my sides are feeling bigger and stronger. I love that feeling. During church yesterday, he decided to fully shift his head down into the position that he should be in for delivery. That means, his little head pushes down on my bladder at all time of the day. And I have two feet up in my ribs.

I have been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions this week. I have been having them as far apart as 3 in a day to 3 in an hour. They aren't painful at all. Just a little annoying.

I had my 28 week appointment last week. Everything seems to be going great. The doctor told me I probably need to slow down and rest more than I have been. Teaching dance and tumbling keeps me on my feet a lot and he would like me to rest when I'm not teaching. I've been trying, but I'm too much of a busy body. Alden's heartbeat was 130. The doctor said he is measuring to be a good size boy. We will see how much he weighs at birth! :)

In 5 weeks we get another ultrasound. Lyndon is excited to be there for that one.

Until next time,

Stacy, Lyndon, and Alden

(I promise a picture next week, or whenever I find my camera this week.)

28 Weeks... 12 Weeks to go

28 Weeks

12 Weeks to Go!!! It's getting close!!

Alden is doing great! He is wiggling like crazy. I can tell he is getting bigger because his kicks are harder and his legs feel bigger when they are moving around. In my book "What To Expect When You Are Expecting", it told me to count his kicks. They said it is normal for 10 kicks in 10 minutes to an hour. I gave up counting because he kicks so often it is about 10 kicks every 2 to 3 minutes. He is constantly going going going...

ABOUT ALDEN:

He weighs 2 and 1/4 pounds and is around 15 inches long. He can now blink his eyes and has eye lashes. He can also see the difference between darkness and light. He is quickly getting more fat under that skin of his!

ABOUT MY PREGNANCY:

I am definitely eating for two. With all of his moving, I think he is burning lots of calories and making me hungry all the time. I wake up around 3 in the morning every night to go to the bathroom. I am so hungry my stomach hurts. I usually will grab a granola bar or eat some banana and go back to sleep. I am constantly drinking water. I've learned I HAVE to eat 5 small meals a day, otherwise I am starving. I'm not getting lots of sleep anymore. I sleep hard when I am asleep, but he is constantly kicking and waking me up... I think this is a sign for the future. Since I am not working full-time, I try to take a short nap in the afternoons on the days that I have to teach dance and tumbling. My feet are starting to ache a little bit more when I am standing for too long. I am also getting to the point of having difficulties getting out of a chair if it is too low. Oh, the joys of pregnancy. This Wednesday we have our 28 week doctors appointment. Next month, we get another ultrasound, so I get to see my baby boy again!! :) And, Lyndon will be able to go and see him on the ultrasound!

As for me, I am teaching dance and tumbling and it is full swing. The kids are so great this year. I'm not able to do everything that I usually do, and the kids are so nice working with me. The exercise is great!! One of the days, I teach 3 tumbling classes in a row which is 2 1/2 hours of constant working out. I'm exhausted by the end, but it makes me feel great! I have been working on getting Alden's room set up. I set up the bassinet that will be in our room when he comes home. We set up the crib and I'm getting all his clothes washed and put away! :)Things are coming together.

As for Lyndon, he is working working working. Most days he is gone 12 hours. He is such a hard worker! I'm so grateful for him. I wouldn't be able to be home if it wasn't for him. He has been doing lots with the fire department. They recently had an open house that we went to. He is getting pretty spoiled with me being home. I get up in the mornings and make him breakfast and get his lunch ready. And he has dinner on the table when he gets home. Spoiled! :)

Other than ALL of that information, things are going great and I am still feeling good. A little more tired, but good.

Until next week...

Lyndon, Stacy, and Alden

Baby Shower

Lyndon's family put on a baby shower for me this Saturday. My sister is putting one on for me in November, but his family will be on a trip, so they are unable to come. I had a great time. We played lots of games, had cupcakes and punch and I received lots of presents! It's crazy that I'm having a baby shower for my baby!

Here I am with the cupcakes at the baby shower

Everyone had string and had to guess what length of string would fit around my belly

Liz won the contest. She was within an inch!

Then, we played a game of "Guess what Melted chocolate bar is in the diaper". It was an interesting game, but fun to watch people smell a diaper.
