Growing Boy! :)

Alden is getting so big. He isn't so much a baby anymore and is transitioning into toddler mode. It makes me so sad. I told Lyndon we are going to have 30 kids because I love the baby stage and I'm already ready for the next one to be here so I can have an infant in the house again.

I think I'm crazy. :)

He is learning to feed himself. He's still pretty messy (especially with spaghetti, but he loves it) but he is getting the hang of it. He does not want baby food at all unless it's fruit, like applesauce or pureed pears.

He now loves the pots and pans cupboard and the tupperware drawer. The other day, he wanted to cook like Momma so I put some Fruit Loops in a little pot and he cooked with me while I cooked dinner. He kept telling me, "Hot, Momma, Hot". :) It was adorable. Of course, he ate the Fruit Loops quick!

He also loves CARS! He can say "Car" and also says "Go Go" because cars go! :) He likes to sit in Lyndon's parents garage and "drive" the lawn mower. :)

He is growing up way too fast.

Baby #2- 16 Weeks

I went to my 16 week check-up this Wednesday. Everything looked great. The heart rate was 150, which is the same as what Alden's was. So, maybe another boy??? We will see next month. They scheduled my ultrasound for next month, and we get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl! :)

I lost weight at my last appointment. About 2 pounds. I gained 4 pounds back, so I have gained a total of 2 pounds. I am out of my "Skinny Jeans" and now in the pants I bought right after I had Alden which are about 3 sizes bigger than my normal jeans. I am not in maternity clothes yet.

I definitely have a belly. If I wear a baggier t-shirt, you still can't see the bump, but if I have a tight shirt on, there is a definitely baby bump there.

I have felt a little movement. Just little flutters here and there. This is about the same time I felt flutters with Alden. I'm excited to feel more.

My morning sickness has finally gone away completely. It took me longer to get past it this time around.

Other than that, things are looking amazing. I have no restrictions with dance or anything so I am happy about that.

I will post a belly pic sometime when I take it. I keep forgetting. Chasing a 1 year old... You tend to lose your mind. :)

Co-Sleeping

You know when your doctor comes into the office and says, "So, is your child sleeping through the night? In his crib?"

My answer: "Yes."

Lies. :)

Ever since Alden was around 8 months old, when he got really sick and wasn't breathing right, I have had him in my bed with Lyndon and I. There are some nights when he will sleep in his own bed, but mostly he sleeps right next to me.

So many people are anti-cosleeping. Before I was a mom, I thought I would be too. Not the case. I always try to hide that I co-sleep with my son. I always hear: "Babies should be in their own beds in their own rooms". "They should fall asleep on their own by this age, and not depend on you."

Alden is so attached to me. He snuggles me to fall asleep. Who can deny their child that? He is developing as well as any kid his age. And at his age, he doesn't question if I will be there to comfort him. He knows his Momma is right there to take care of him. I just don't understand how people can make a one year old be alone in a room when they don't want to be. Let's face it, I'm afraid of the dark at 24 and I hate sleeping alone.

Now that #2 is on the way, we have a dilemma. I am not sleeping with 2 babies in my bed, plus a husband and a dog at my feet. No thank you. Alden is getting his big boy bed this week. I am going to stick his bed right next to my side of the bed so I am right there and make his way into his own room during the months to come. We will see how this works. Some of you are probably laughing your heads off at me like... yeah- that will work! HA! But, thats my baby boy...

Anyway- we will see how this goes. :)

What is going on with the Haines?

So, I haven't posted much lately. I've been pretty busy with the dance studio. It is competition and performance season, so we are performing a lot and getting our routines ready for a competition in April.

Nothing has been really going on with me. I am now 15 weeks pregnant and looking it. My belly has popped out quicker this time. I was told it would. I'm refusing to wear maternity clothes until I absolutely have to. I didn't like wearing them last time and with only 10 months in between Alden and this pregnancy, it wasn't enough time to really want to be pregnant again. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely excited to have baby #2 on the way, but being pregnant and miserable.... Ehhh.... We will see. :)

Things are going great with Lyndon. He was promoted at one of his (Many) jobs. He is now the Associate pastor at our church! And they are talking about bringing him on full-time, which would be extra amazing! He has his bachelors degree in Preaching so it would actually be a job that uses his degree. :)

Alden is doing great! He is 13 months and finally walking! :) He's learning tons of new words and has an amazing personality. He's learned to crawl on everything he can find. I can't believe he is getting so big. Our next thing on the agenda: Move him to a toddler bed. My parents have a fire truck toddler bed that was my brothers that they are going to let us borrow for him. We are putting him in it earlier than we wanted but we want him to know that his crib is going to be for the new baby. We are almost done with bottles. He uses sippy cups all day and only uses a bottle before bed. I am hoping within the next few weeks we will be bottle free!!! :)

Lastly, we are looking into buying a house. I started the process with a mortgage company in the area. We have a house in mind, but we haven't seen it in person, just on the website. It is a great price and has most of the things we need. We have rented since the day we were married and with #2 on the way, we thought it would be a good time to buy. :)

I will keep updating more. :)

Winter Date: Cook Together

Everyone always says to do this. I never understood.

Do something in the kitchen with my husband who has no idea what he is doing and just get frustrated. I've learned now its not the end result, its the moments of cooking together.

When we have some extra time I will invite Lyndon into the kitchen with me to cook. Most of the time it is a good experience. There are moments of things falling on the floor, burning things on the stove, wrong amounts of ingredients... But it is fun.

I still haven't found the "romance" in cooking together, but it is still a great time.

Inexpensive fun!

It sucks being poor. :) I would know. Hahahahaha!

We aren't Super poor! But we don't have lots of extra spending cash. I thought it would be fun to find different cheap, free, fun ideas for families and couples to do. We will see how it goes.

Every once in a while I will try posting some of my ideas. :)
