Get Your Groove On!

Fiddle Festival Definition: The National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival happens every 3rd Week of June in Weiser, ID. Fiddlers from around the country (And world) come to compete, jam, and enjoy the festivities. Our whole town changes during this time, and I bet our little 5,000 population town doubles in size this week.

there is so much going on this week. We have two main parks that have entertainment, carnival, food booths, and other vendors. The high school is packed with fiddlers watching the show and competing. Behind our high school, there is RV's everywhere.

There are so many different events going on each day of the week. The one's we look forward to is Kid's Day in the Park on Friday. We also like to go to the park and listen to the entertainment, drink lemonade, and maybe have a corndog, an Indian Taco, or a funnel cake. On Saturday, there is a parade in the morning and then the Fire Departments have their annual hose competition that Lyndon competes in. Alden may be riding in the fire truck this year!!! Because he is a big boy! We will see.

Yesterday, my dancers were the entertainment at Memorial Park. Afterward, I sat with my family and drank Lemonade and listened to some local singers on stage. Alden loved it. They have a small dance floor in the grass in front of the stage, so my niece Emma and Alden went out and danced their hearts out. It was too cute!

The weather was a nice 80 degrees yesterday! Being 32 weeks pregnant, it made for a nice afternoon. Today, it is supposed to be around 97 degrees, so we are planning on staying home today and going and enjoying the festival tomorrow and Saturday. :)

I love living in a small town. :)

The Next Step Performs at Fiddle Fest

The dancers performed at a local festival in town. All the kids did amazing!

32 Weeks

Only 8 weeks left!!!! The countdown begins. I'm am very ready for Collyn to make his appearance, but I know I have to wait 2 more months. Lyndon and I were watching a documentary about babies the other day and when a newborn came on the screen, Lyndon told me he is very excited and ready for Collyn to be here.

ABOUT COLLYN: Collyn weighs about 4 pounds and is around 17 inches in length. He is still moving like crazy even though the doctor said he should be slowing down. Not my children. they find room and kick me like crazy. I never know what position he is in. He changes frequently. Right now, he is head down, but the other day he was sideways.

ABOUT ME: I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, of course. Not as many as last pregnancy. I think since it is summer I am doing better and staying hydrated. And there are so many yummy drinks to sip on during the summer! I had my doctors appointment yesterday and everything looked great. I had to wait an extra half hour because my doctor was called out to a delivery. But, it was fine. I didn't have Alden with me so I was able to read a magazine and relax for a while. I have gained 3 pounds since my last appointment. Total is 31 pounds. A lot less than last pregnancy! :)

We scheduled my ultrasound and my next appointment at 34 weeks. So, we get to see our little man again! :) Lyndon hopefully will be able to make it to this ultrasound. Our lives are slowing down now. Dance is officially over for the summer. Now, we can concentrate on the house and Collyn's arrival! :)

Update on Parker

My nephew, Parker Ryan, was born on Memorial Day. During his first check-up the doctors office found out that he had lost a whole pound in 4 days. They sent him to the NICU at the childrens Hospital in Boise for further testing. During that time, they found lots of different issues with him. One of the big ones, he wasn't able to suck properly so he was losing weight. He wasn't able to latch onto my sister or suck from a bottle. He is now on a feeding tube and has gained 9 ounces. They figure he will be there for another week or two and hoping he will be able to eat by himself. Last night, he spit up the breastmilk from the feeding tube and it got into one of his lungs. They are changing the feeding tube to go deeper into his stomach to try to help the acid reflux. This poor little guy has been through so much during his little life. I hope I got most of the information correct. There are other things going on, but that is most of the things that I know. Prayers Please! :)

Swimming and Sidewalk Chalk

My sister and baby Parker are in the Children's Hospital in Boise. Parker isn't doing very well. My parents are watching her older girls, Alexie and Emma. They have been there for almost 2 weeks now.

My mom needed a little break, so I told her I would have the girls and Johnny (my little brother)come over and play with Alden for a while the other day. I had just bought Alden a new toddler swimming pool, so I told them to wear their swimsuits and come swimming. The water was a little cold because it was straight out of the hose and the sun hadn't warmed it up at all.

They decided sidewalk chalk would be fun also, so I pulled out the chalk. They spent about 3 hours outside playing. I was sunscreening A LOT! After they were tired of playing outside, everyone came inside, ate a snack, and played in Alden's play room. Around dinner time, my dad came and picked up the kids. Alden LOVED having people over to play. It was a relaxing day.

Maternity Pictures

Last pregnancy, I didn't take any maternity pictures. I really wish I had. This time, I knew I was going to take them. I have a friend who is a photographer, so she said she would take my pictures.

Sold.

Aww! It feels so good to be in my own home.... That is all my own. :) The only thing I'm not fond of right now is the boxes everywhere.

However, we are officially homeowners and Lyndon and I love it. :)

We signed the papers last Thursday and started moving in Monday evening.

The Mens Group from our church volunteered to come Monday evening and help us move. They were here for about 2 hours and moved all the big stuff from our old house to our new one.

The next day, my family came and helped move the rest of the stuff.

Lyndon has been at the old house the last day cleaning up and sweeping. Our old house is being rented out Monday, so we only have a few more days to clean up.

I've been working like crazy (As much as you can at 31 weeks)putting the house together and getting everything in their places. It's an interesting task with a one year old. He tries to help, but he's not too helpful. :)

I set up the living room, so at least one room would feel homey. We painted the walls a tan/brown color called Burnt Almond. And when I say we, I mean my hubby and my mom. :)

Here is a picture before we moved in.

Here is a picture of after we set it up. Ignore my child on the couch, on a toy.... Yes- He's a climber. I've learned to deal with it! :) Nothing surprises me anymore.

I will keep updating while I get each room set up. :) It's so nice to have a home that is OURS! :)

30 Week Check-Up

This morning I had my 30 week appointment. It went good.

I only gained 1/2 a pound the last 3 weeks, which makes me happy. I have gained 28 1/2 pounds this pregnancy. Way less than last time. Collyn sounded good. His heart rate was 150. He is head down but not engaged. His head is laying in my left pelvic bone. Which, I can feel often. He is sitting really low. The doctor said that was normal for a 2nd pregnancy.

He isn't worried about the Braxton Hicks contractions. He said to put my feet up a little more and keep drinking water. :)

Since we are moving within the next week, Lyndon asked about paint fumes and if I can be around them. The doctor gave me a go to be around it, but not to do much painting. And no moving big boxes. :)

Things are going good with this pregnancy so far. I have another doctors appointment in 2 weeks. :)

I will post a picture of the belly later.

Signing Day!

The day has finally come! We have an appointment with the Title company at 2 PM to sign our lives away! :) We are almost home owners. I can almost taste it! :) I have slowly started packing up our house. I have the living room decor packed and half of the kitchen. Basically, all that is left is the essentials (Sippy cups, plates, bowls, and silverware). We are going to be creative these next few days for meals. I figure at 30 weeks pregnant, I need to take my time packing. I am so glad to be moving into our own home! We had another walk-through for this house (Our rental) this morning. It's just so weird having people walk through your home walking past all your stuff and talking about where they would put their stuff. So strange. I'm ready to be out of here! I'm a personal person, so it bothers me that random people are walking through my bedroom. There isn't really anything exciting to see in there, but it is still weird and uncomfortable. Hopefully, the moving process with start this weekend. Cross our fingers!

Warm Days

Whose idea was it to be pregnant during the summer?? Even though this pregnancy wasn't planned... We could have planned a little better. :) Haha!

Being due in August is going to make for a very long and very hot summer. We have so much going on this summer, I just need to remember to rest as much as possible and drink lots of water! We have lots coming up.

The dance studio is performing at a local festival in town, The National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest and Festival. We do this every year and its not too bad, but I will be 32 weeks along when we perform.

We are also almost closed on our house so we will be moving soon. I'm very excited to be in our new house, but the process of getting there and getting set up is making me a little antsy. Being almost 8 months pregnant and moving in the summer.... Hmmmm....

On the good side of things, summer means fun in the sun! Alden is loving being outside. The house we are living in now has a lousy front and back yard for a toddler. Our new house has an amazing backyard and I am so excited. However, in the evenings, we all go outside and color on the sidewalks or Alden will run through the sprinkler.

A few days ago, Alden and Daddy played with the water hose and Alden got to do what every child needs to do during the summer.... He drank out of the hose. Nothing is better than that!!! :)

Our family is definitely enjoying summertime weather.

Watermelon!

Alden LOVES watermelon! We got a small seedless watermelon the other day and we cut it up. He ate about 4 slices of it. Nothing says summer like a good watermelon!

A Trip To The Zoo

Since Lyndon didn't have to work Monday because of the holiday, his schedule was all funky. Needless to say, he didn't have to work most of the day Thursday, so we were able to have a family day and get a trip to the Zoo in. Alden LOVED IT! We started out in the "Rainforest" area and saw a huge turtle, snakes, lizards, and some monkeys.
We made our way to the tigers, but they were sleeping and Alden couldn't see them. We saw more monkeys, some birds, the giraffes, penguins, and the lions. Aldens favorite were the giraffes. As we were leaving, we bought him a shirt and some plastic animal toys. He has played with the animals non-stop since we left the Zoo.
He was exhausted by the end of the day, but he really enjoyed it. We will be making another trip to the Zoo after Collyn arrives, maybe next Spring.
It was such a relaxing day and a great day spent with family.
