Every 4th of July in Weiser is AMAZING! I love Small Town USA. We live downtown so we are usually a block or two away from anything that happens in Weiser. Lyndon and I woke up to patriotic music blasting through the town from a loud speaker from Veterans park. What a great way to wake up. :)
In the morning, the town had a Veterans parade. All the veterans in town marched down our main street in town while everyone stood and clapped for them. What an amazing thing to see! They had a flag folding ceremony also.
At lunchtime, the fire department put on a free BBQ for everyone in town. It's so nice to know everyone who shows up at these events. It's like a family reunion everytime. During the BBQ, the fire department started a sprinkler for the kids to run in. Not just any sprinkler though, one that hooked up to the fire hose, so it was HUGE!
Since it was in the 90's that day, the kids absolutely LOVED it. Alden got to put his feet in the water.
After the BBQ, we all came home and took a little nap.
Then, it was off to my parents for swimming. Alden has never been swimming before, so this was a new experience for him. We started out just putting his toes in.
Then, he floated around the pool on his lounger. :)
Then, daddy carried him around.
Johnny went swimming with us also. Lyndon and Johnny started doing some tricks in the pool.
After swimming and eating, we went up to the golf course to watch fireworks. We got there early and the kids played while they waited. They were able to run down the fairway of the first hole. They had so much fun.
Alden fell asleep before the fireworks started.
What a great day!! :)
