Alden feeds himself snacks now. It is so nice to be able to stick him in his high chair and while he snacks, I can get some work done.
Here he is feeding himself bananas
This is what he looked like AFTER he ate bananas!! Oops! Bath time!

Idaho Power provided bucket rides that went 75 feet in the air.
A Dunk Tank
Pop drinking contest
A obstacle course provided by the Idaho National Guard
Free BBQ with hamburgers and hot dogs. Free raffle with tons of great prizes, and 2 live bands
Water balloon toss
Alden even enjoyed the Back TO School Bash!

Wild Fire
Lyndon is a volunteer firefighter on the local Rural Fire Department. Last week, he got a page for a fire right outside of town. The people that called it in said they were burning a burn barrel that caught some brush on fire right next to their house. The fire ended up burning 600 acres of land. The firefighters were able to save all the homes in the area.
Lyndon has had some issues with his foot lately, so he called and asked if I could bring him some Tylenol and his ankle braces. My mom, grandma, and I drove up to the fire. We sat and watched them work on the fire for a while. It was pretty intense.
Here is Alden in his fire helmet, just like his daddy right before we left to go to the fire.
A helicopter dumping water on the fire
A plane dropping retardent on the fire.

Birthday Party
Lyndon, Alden, and I were invited to a family friends birthday party. McKenna turned 11 this last weekend. Alden was passed around from girl to girl the entire time. And he LOVED it! It was such a fun party in the park, with swimming at the local pool.
Here he is with some of the girls.

Mmmm.... Apples
Alden is now old enough that he sits in his high chair at the dinner table while we eat dinner as a family. We now put little bits of food on his tray for him to eat. For a special treat, I cut up apples that he could chew on. He has no teeth so he couldn't bite through, but he did like gumming them and sucking the juice out.
I have hair... Sort of!
Alden is my little Bald bug! His hair is growing in slowly, but it is super blonde so you can't see it. He thought it was so funny that I put a kitchen towel on his head.
Boy Time
Our friends Colton and Kristin celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary. We offered to watch their 7 month old son, Logan, so they could go out for their anniversary.
Alden is only 2 weeks older than Logan. So, it was like having twins. It was lots of fun to have him over.
Alden and Logan played on the floor together for the longest time.
While they were playing, Alden stole Logans binkie, which made Logan start crying, so Logan ripped Alden's binkie out of his mouth. Of course, Alden started crying, so I had 2 crying babies! Yikes!
Then, my little brother came and saved me. He played with the boys for quite a bit making them laugh.
It was a fun day, but very exhausting.

7 Months Old!!
We are growing growing growing in the Haines house! 7 months have already passed! Yikes. Before I know it I will be planning a birthday party.
Here are some updates on our little guy!
GROWTH: Alden is weighing in at 20 pounds and is 28 inches in length. He has grown much since last month, but seems to be getting longer.
SLEEP: Alden is still sleeping through the night, most nights. He gets up every few nights because I think he is teething. I just pop the binkie back in his mouth and he goes back to sleep. He is sleeping in his own room still.
EATING: Alden is still on soy formula. He eats about 3-4 8 ounce bottles each day. He hasn't tried too many new foods. We have tried blueberries, potatoes, and avocado. He enjoyed the avocado. I made his mashed potatoes with nothing in it and he hated it. Then, I gave him some of mine with butter, milk, and salt & pepper. Of course, he enjoyed it then. I only gave him a few bites though because of the dairy.
CLOTHING: Alden is in 9-12 month clothing
DIAPERS: He is wearing Size 3 diapers.
DEVELOPMENT: Alden is now able to stand when I hold his hands. He has an exersaucer and will stand in it. He is attempting to crawl. He goes backwards and in circles, scooting on his belly. He hasn't been able to get off the belly and move. He can get on his hands and knees, but can't move quite yet.
He is growing like a weed. He is completely out of the newborn stage. I think I tried holding onto that far too long. He doesn't want to be held like a baby when he eats a bottle or lay on his back for a long time, he is on the move!
Until next month!! :) Enjoy the warm weather!
