25 Weeks

Another week down... 15 to go!

This week is going great! I had two braxton hicks contractions this week. Nothing painful, my stomach just goes hard! It is a crazy feeling! Nothing too different has changed this week. Alden is definitely getting bigger! As he moves, you can feel the body parts are bigger and are taking up more space in my belly.

Alden is about 13 1/2 inches long and around a pound and a half! He is getting bigger and bigger! He's getting more fat under his skin and getting more hair!

I'm definitely NOT complaining about my hair while being pregnant. It is so much more full. I have VERY thin and flat hair. Now, I can actually grow it out and it will still have volume! I love it! I'm having a harder time moving around and getting out of chairs and out of bed. I feel like it's just going to get worse!

Next week, I have to go in to the doctor and take a glucose test. HOW FUN! I've heard it isn't a pleasant experience. We will see how it goes!

On a personal note, if you read my last post, you would know that I am quitting my job. I will be teaching dance this school year and I have some other odd part-time jobs. I have lots to do before our baby boy come, so I'm going to try to get that all accomplished! I feel like I will be busier NOT working than when I was working. We have a busy fall and winter!

Here is a belly pic. I haven't posted one for a long long time... so sorry... but, here it is... 25 weeks!

Surprise! Baby Shower!!

Since I am planning on being a stay-at-home mom, I put in my two weeks at my job 2 weeks ago. October 1st is my last day working at Guardian Home Care. I have a few months until the baby is born, but I want to be able to get things ready and rest before our little one comes.

Every Wednesday, the nurses have their meeting at 8:45 in the morning. I didn't think anything of it, because ALL staff is in the office at this time. This is rare because in home health the nurses are always out visiting patients.

One of the nurses paged me to come to the conference room. I was thinking they had a question or needed me to do something. When I walked in, there was a WHOLE bunch of presents and everyone sitting waiting for me to open them. It was so fun! I was completely surprised! It was a great way to end my job there. They even brought doughnuts! A GREAT thing for a pregnant girl! :)

I got lots of amazing gifts (including lots and lots of diapers)!! I am sad that I will be leaving my job, but it is the best thing for my family.

So, THANK YOU! all my co-workers who came and gave me a gift! It was so thoughtful! I couldn't ask for more!

24 Weeks

24 weeks!! I've made it another week!! I had my 24 week doctors appointment yesterday. Lyndon wasn't able to come with me this time. He had to work. Everything is looking great. He is right on track. We listened to the heart beat and his beats per minute is around 140. The doctor felt around to see how the baby is positioned. He is head down and his feet (That kick me all day and night) are on my right side. Last month at the ultrasound they said he was measuring big, but this month he has seemed to even out. Our bundle of joy is right on track! :)

I have officially gained 27 pounds. I felt like this was a little much, but since I started at around 112 at 5 ft 6 in, the doctor said I needed to gain more weight than normal. So, that is looking good.

Every night I seem to be up at 2:30 AM. I feel like Alden will be up at 2:30 for feedings when he is born. Of course, once I wake up, I have to go to the bathroom, then I toss and turn for about 30 to 45 minutes trying to get back to sleep. My belly definitely has changed the way I sleep.

Alden has been kicking up a storm! I think that is all he does. He never stops. I think he kicks in his sleep. Lyndon says it looks like there is an alien in my belly because he pushes so hard on my belly.

In 2 weeks I have to go back to the doctor to do a stress test, then I have my next appointment in 4 weeks. This pregnancy has gone by so fast! I can't believe I am this far along already. It feels like I just took a pregnancy test.

Lyndon and I are doing great! I put in my two week notice at my job at Guardian Home Care. I will be teaching dance and tumbling this fall and winter. I'm planning on being a stay-at-home mom. I'm super excited!! :)

Lyndon has been training a lot with the fire department, working at Idaho Garbologist and working at the church with the youth group. We have been BUSY BUSY BUSY!!! I told Lyndon that it feels like I haven't seen him in weeks... And technically I haven't. We basically see each other, say good night and go to sleep. He is gone before I go to work in the morning.... This weekend we will get to spend time together! FINALLY! :)

UNTIL NEXT WEEK!!!

23 Weeks

I have been horrible at posting on here....

3 weeks ago Lyndon and I found out we are having a BOY! We are going to name him

Alden Stuart Haines

Alden is Lyndon's great-grandpa who was a fire chief in Boston. And, of course, Stuart... My maiden name.

Lyndon wasn't able to come to the ultrasound with me. He left for a fire in Cascade, Idaho the day before the appointment. He was gone for 4 days. Fortunately, since he was gone, my mom and his mom were able to go with me and find out the gender. We videotaped the appointment so he was able to see his son!! :)

Things are busy around our house, like always. We actually have moved. 2 weeks ago, we moved from our house on West 1st St to a house on West Liberty St. It is literally 2 blocks away. The layout is better for a baby. It is a cute 1912 Arts and Crafts home. When we get completely settled I will take pictures and post them.

Alden has been moving SOO much the past month. We have found out that eating ice cream makes him kick like crazy!! Pregnancy has been lots of fun. We have had ups and downs, but it has been going pretty smooth.

He is measuring big. I am 23 weeks, but he is measuring around 25 weeks. They don't know if he is just a big baby, or if my calculations were off. So, we may be having a December baby, and not a January one. We are just hoping for after Christmas. New Years would be nice. I don't think I have a choice, he is going to choose when to come... :)

I finally look pregnant... I don't look like I've just gained weight. There is actually a little bump there...

On another note:
Lyndon has gone full-time with Idaho Garbologist. He is still working part-time at West Valley Church. I am going to be quitting my job in the near future to just teach dance and tumbling. I am planning on being a stay-at-home mom. I will be able to take him to dance with me.

Other than that, things are going great. Nothing to complain about! :) Besides having to move... But, I love my new house...

Pictures to come.... When I remember :)

Until next time...
