The past few days have been hectic, but good..
On Sunday, Lyndon and I went to church at Origins for the second weekend in a row. It was amazing.... again this week. Really good sermon! It really got me thinking. We went and visited people in the care centers like we do every week. One of our favorite ladies, Laura, was in the common area for a church service when we showed up. She was so upset and thought maybe she should leave so she could talk with us. We told her that it was more important for her to be at church and we would see her later in the week. We're going to visit her tomorrow.
My aunt Abbey came on Saturday for the funeral. She has been helping my mom with the preparation of the funeral. My mom, grandma, and aunt left early this morning for Portland. My dad and Johnny are leaving this evening. My sister and her family are leaving EARLY Thursday morning and Lyndon and I are leaving mid-morning on Thursday. Lots of family is going to be there. It will be a good trip.
Lyndon has changed his mind.... again.... for what he wants to do. There is an opportunity in Weiser that he is thinking about, so it's looking like we may be staying in Weiser longer than we thought. But, with Lyndon, that could change tomorrow.
Until next time.

One Step Closer To The Wedding....
My mom, my grandma, Johnny and I went to Ontario to run some errands. I had to run to Wal-Mart to pick up some things, so we made a day of it.
We went to lunch at Carls Jr. and Johnny thought that was the coolest thing EVER! He got to play while my mom, grandma, and I talked about the wedding.
Then, we went to Wal-Mart and I got all the things I needed and while I was waiting for my mom to finish shopping I was glancing through the wedding supplies in the party section. Did you know HOW huge the wedding section at Wal-Mart is?? I had NO idea!!
ANYWAY! I found some REALLY adorable invitations. Who would have ever thought in this lifetime, me, of all people, would find her invitations at WAL-MART???!!! I would never have dreamed of the day. Martha Stewart knows what she is doing. They were so cute. They have daisy cut-outs on the bottom and are the cutest things EVER!
While STILL waiting for my mom to get finished (She loves to wander!) I found some cute flower baskets for the flower girls. I have four flower girls in all but only 2 are throwing flowers. We decided to get those too. They look like mini-purses. I thought they fit the girls perfectly!
On we went (After my grandma and I corralled my mom to the checkout) to Jo-Anns fabrics. To make the wedding less expensive, my mom is making the bridesmaids and flower girls dresses. I had the patterns picked out for months but we needed to get fabric to start. The flower girl dress I chose was WAY too much fabric so I had to down-size and find something less.... poofy. So, we settled on a cute one that is less frilly.
Here are some pictures of the patterns.
This is the older bridesmaids dresses (Pattern) (For Susan, Sarah, and Allie). The straps are going to be thicker.
This is McKenna's bridesmaid dress. It is a little different because the pattern didn't come in her size.
These are the flower girl dresses. I LOVE THEM!
I'm so excited. I am one step closer to becoming Mrs. Stacy Haines! Lyndon is excited because it is one less day he has to hear about weddings!
Until next time.

Kenneth Ellwood Herring
Last night, January 21, 2009, my grandpa passed away in the Weiser Memorial Hospital. Things have been really hard around my house lately. He went in to the hospital last week because he had the flu. On Friday, he had a heart attack and from then on it just got worse.
Services are going to be held in the Portland area. Lots of my family is coming out to be there. I'm definitely excited to see them, but not for these reasons.
My grandpa was a wonderful grandpa and I couldn't ask for more. He recently moved here from the Portland area after my grandma passed away a couple years ago. I've definitely been spoiled to have him around for the last part of his life.

He will always be in my thoughts.

Cookie Time!!
Cookie time is on!
Hannah and I decided since the boys (Lyndon and Johnny) were playing the Wii, we should do something girly. So, we got the cook book out and chose to make sugar cookies. Hannah thought it would be fun to make the sugar cookies pink and the frosting blue.
Alexie came a little bit later and she helped frost the cookies. They were so adorable. The had on their aprons and thought they were amazing bakers. They took their creations around to all the family members that were here.
I love spending time with my neices. It is always such an amazing experience. I love to listen to everything they have to say. I love doing these little projects with them. And, of course, they are so dramatic so taking pictures was a task all in itself. If one of them were in the picture more, I had to take it again until they were equally in the picture. It made me laugh. But, we got some cute pics!

Check out those amazing cookies!!!!
They definitely had a good time and so did I!!! I hope to have MANY more of these experiences!

The Joy In Life
This morning was wonderful! Lyndon and I have been searching around for weeks trying to find a perfect church for us to attend. We had a few in mind and have been taking the last few weeks to regroup and start fresh. Lyndon's grandma works with a lady who said she goes to a church in Ontario, Oregon. Last night, Lyndon and looked it up on the internet and decided it was worth a shot.
This morning we drove to Ontario. As we were getting out of the car I looked at Lyndon...."Ready?" He smiled.... "Yep." It was great. This is the first time in our relationship where we have stepped out of our "norm" or our "comfort zone" and reached out for something new.
Before we could even get to the door to the sanctuary (Sorta... The church is at 4 Rivers Cultural Center, so it was kind of a conference room, but you get the idea), we were greeted by at least 5 people. It was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. When we got in the room, we had no idea where to sit, so a girl named Joanna asked if we would like to sit with her. She was the friendliest girl! Actually, we swapped phone numbers so we could catch up some other time!
The service was amazing. The Lord was in that place and I haven't felt that power in a long long time. I was touched and challenged. The sermon made me want to go out and do more in the community to show God's kingdom and love.
This morning was DEFINITELY amazing. A great step in a new direction for us. We even got new coffee mugs! Really cute. I know I'm probably the only one excited for that. But, great morning..... LOVED IT!
Until next time.

Back To School....
Lyndon and I are officially off Christmas break. I am in my second week of my semester and Lyndon started his classes this morning.
Yesterday, Lyndon came down with a cold and sounded horrible. He drove back to Boise last night for his first class at 8 a.m. He didn't get into bed until really late so decided it would be best to try sleeping and getting rest. He has two classes this afternoon.
I have 3 classes this semester. All of them can be done online, but I am able to go to class for help and instruction. I am almost done with my Associates Degree. I'm super excited!
Lyndon and I have started a book called "The Love Dare". If you want to start your marriage off right, mend a broken marriage, or just enjoy your marriage a little more, this book is for you. Basically, for 40 days you have 1 dare a day. Some are hard, some are super easy and fun. Then, that night you have a few questions to answer and a journal to write. We are only on our 4th day of the dare and we are both loving it. I think throughout the years we will be using this one over and over again!
Check in again!

Bringing In The New Year!
Things are definitely moving around here.
After Christmas, Lyndon and I put together our wedding's "Save The Dates". We are sending out 250 invitations and around 520 people are invited. I had no idea our wedding would be this big! We have them all in envelopes, now the problem is buying the stamps.
Our New Year's Eve was WONDERFUL! Very relaxing and quiet. Just what Lyndon and I needed to start the new year. We spent the evening at his house with his brother and his girlfriend. We watched movies, snacked, and played games. It was a lot of fun!
Alexie turned 4 on the 3rd of January! She is getting so old! Lyndon and I took her to Fiesta Guadalajara for a birthday lunch. His family came with us! She got to open a present during lunch and it was a bridal barbie. Then, before dessert, she got to wear a sombrero as the waiters sang Happy Birthday to her. She thought that was the COOLEST thing EVER!
This started Lyndon and my new tradition. We are going to take neices, nephews, little brothers, etc, to a birthday lunch, or somewhere fun they want to go for their birthday. So we are able to spend one-on-one time with them.
My mom turned 50 on the 6th. She received black roses from Cody. And balloons. Lyndon and I got her a funny card and some chocolates. We figured since she was a girl she definitely needed chocolate for this birthday!
I have started school. I have one class on campus on Tuesday and Thursday and 2 online classes. I am also doing a work experience class. I'm not sure yet where I'm going to do it, but I will find out soon. Lyndon goes back to school next week. Back to not seeing him, only on the weekends! Not fun at all.
More updates to come.
